Palm Trees = GONE

WELL. I am quite aware that the shop is due to open tonight (and don't worry, it will!) but I wanted to take a quick break to blog about the joy that I experienced today in losing our palm trees.

We bought the house with 2 nasty palm trees right near our patio:


That's right, a garden full of native bushes and scrub, and somebody thought a pair of palm trees were a great idea...?

Long story short, the other day a group of tree removers gave us a deal we couldn't refuse, and loooooook:


Now Chris just has to do the manly work of getting it all out onto the verge in time for this week's green waste collection.

I am super excited for Sunday, which aside from being a day of woo-ing from the man, will also be the day I re-open the factory doors! Hannah & Steph are going to do a fun shoot with me in the morning so I can have some action shots of my brooches and hair clips. I'm so looking forward to it!

Along with the shop re-opening, I'm going to start up a Facebook fan page for a bit of free promo. Fun times ahead - in 3 sleeps to be exact!!

Also I'm really looking forward to Saturday, because I'm spending the day in Mandurah with the two best friends money can buy (ha)!!! OK I don't really pay them to hang with me. Crazily they seem to enjoy the process. We're going to be taking tons of fun photos and eating lots of fun food, most likely.

Fun note of the day: I love my slow cooker. It makes good food. Today I decided to reward my slow cooker by printing off a bunch of new recipes for it. I'm sweet like that.

The Big Hair-Envy Post

Today I got thinking about lovely long hair...

I have long hair, but it really needs a cut. And it's got some crazy re-growth. And it's dry, not lovely and luscious.

Today I seem to have a case of the Mondays. Sure, it's after work, but I'm feeling just as whingey and low as I was this morning before jumping on the train. Darn Monday. As I told Kat this morning, I'd gladly smother it with a pillow while it slept.

Yesterday was Mudcake and I didn't take a single picture! I'll have to hit up the ladies who did. It was a fun day, and I proudly got to enjoy a bestie's first ever scrap-booking moment with her!! Go Hatti go!
I loomed a bunch of flowers and made a few petally brooches. I am a loser, because I don't have any photos of that stuff either. I'm all talk, pretty much ;)

Tonight the plan is to think of something to cook for dinner, and make husbandly-husband watch Camp Rock with me!

Chirrup!

What is it with me not being able to take great photos? I have a 10MP camera and yet I've seen better some from a 2MP iPhone! Apologies for the photo above, it's a skill I'm still working on...

Anyhoo, this is something I've been working on over the weekend - one of 5 new birds I crafted on Saturday. She's my favourite - I like bright colours sort of a LOT :)

Friday night was goal-setting night. I sat down with a notebook (I really love notebooks) and worked on about 10 different pages concurrently, all with different headings. Promotion ideas. Monthly check lists. Quotas. New products. It's all a bit of a head-spin really!

Really looking forward to our craft group re-starting this Saturday. Mrs Katherine and I started the group, called Mudcake, in 2008 and had a lot of fun with it. Life sort of got in the way last year, but this year it's going to be bigger and better than ever! For one thing, we have 13 ladies coming along to kick off Mudcake 2010!! 13! We'll be starting up our own Mudcake blog which we're really excited about too. More on that soon...

This is the official first week that I'll be working my ass off towards a bigger, better Button Factory. I'm excited!!!
